Bose QC35 II: My Favorite Headphones for Working Out

I often get asked what are the best over-ear headphones to workout in. And time & time again, I have to go with the Bose QC35 II.

It’s been about 4 years using these headphones and I haven’t turned back.

Overview

Originally, I bought these headphones because I had some Beats by Dre Studio headphones in my college days, and although those headphones were loud, they weren’t comfortable nor did they have the sound quality that I was looking for.

Not only that, but those but those headphones never seemed to stay on my head when working out and the sound escaped the earmuffs like crazy.

I knew it was time for a change.

I did a good amount of research before making the leap and grabbing the original Bose QC35 headphones.

From the moment I put those headphones on, I noticed a massive difference. True to their name, they were extremely comfortable.

I immediately took them to the gym to test them out.

Needless to say, I was a bit nervous working out in $350 headphones, but I quickly got over my fears once I forgot that they were even on. Yes. They were that comfortable. I can’t stress that enough.

Over time, I decided to upgrade to QC35 II and we’re still going strong today.

The Good

  • Extremely comfortable
  • Clear audio across most genres
  • Very resistant — I’ve dropped a few times with no cosmetic or structural damage
  • Holds charges for seemingly forever
  • They can switch to wired connection if neccesary
  • Charges to full very quickly (less than 2-3 hours sometimes)
  • Bluetooth has great range

The Bad

  • Bass is good, but could be better
  • The Bose Connect app is mostly useless
  • Sometimes has trouble connecting to device when headphones are first turned on

Overall, I’m definitely happy with these headphones and have no plans on switching to anything else.

The Cost

The Bose QC35 II comes in at around $299.

Although it may seem like a steep price at first, it quickly makes sense when you realize you’re getting, wireless connectivity, comfort, long-term reliability, great battery life, excellent sound quality, a secure fit, and more.

When it comes to going to the gym, finding a rhythm and getting the optimal workout, having great music in your ears makes a world of difference.

With all that being said, the Bose QC35 II are definitely worth it.

Should You Get Bose QC35 II?

If you couldn’t already tell, I absolutely love these headphones. I’ve used them for traveling, working out or even just around the house. They simply get the job done.

Would highly recommend.
